As a child, I loved building with Beta Builder and Meccano sets. Back then, LEGO was the more expensive alternative to Beta Builder, but over time Beta Builder disappeared and LEGO became the building system of choice. It reminds me of the way Microsoft Office eventually overtook Lotus SmartSuite.

Life then took over. Between raising a family and spending many years working away from home, there was little opportunity to return to my childhood hobby. It wasn’t until much later in life that I finally fulfilled a long-held ambition by building the LEGO Tower Bridge set. The inspiration came shortly after my wife, Linda, and I visited LEGOLAND Windsor, where my enthusiasm for building was rekindled.

Now, in my late seventies, my collection has grown to more than 80 sets, and my interests have evolved. While I still enjoy the challenge of building cars and complex mechanical models, my real passion now lies in creating cityscapes, road networks, and railways. These larger projects allow me to combine creativity, planning, and engineering into something that continues to grow and evolve, rather than simply sitting on a shelf once completed.

Although I’m now retired, family commitments mean I don’t always have as much time as I’d like to devote to my dream city. Over the past few years, I’ve been experimenting with the MILS (Modular Integrated Landscaping System) concept and have almost completed my own version, designed specifically for roads, railways, and buildings.

This website is where I’ll be sharing that journey. As my city develops, I’ll document the ideas, techniques, successes, and occasional setbacks along the way. Progress may be gradual as I fit building around family life, but I hope you’ll enjoy following the adventure as much as I enjoy creating it.
